Welcome and Thank You for Your Support!

With deep gratitude, the Cultural Exchange Committee would like to thank you all for sharing this day with us.  Because you care about this place and its people, we are able to move forward in building a healthy community that celebrates history, diversity, and inclusion.

  Moving Forward

It is our hope that the River Peoples Cultural Exchange will extend beyond the day's celebration.  Our vision is to reach out and broaden our understanding and strength our relationships on an ongoing basis.
Community Elders

The River Peoples Cultural Exchange is a collaborative effort of the residents of Lyle, Washington and tribal members to share traditions, educate, build friendships, and promote goodwill with our communities and region.

Eagle Spirit Drummers

Currently, we are working with our local school district to develop educational opportunities with our youth in our public schools.  We are optimistic and encouraged by volunteer efforts being made to make this a reality for the 2010-2011 school year.

The Twin Bridges Museum in Lyle is working on a permanent Native exhibit that will focus on items donated by the local River Peoples and other community members.  Be sure to visit the museum located in the Lyle Activity Center to see the current display and hear plans of upcoming changes.

The River Peoples Cultural Exchange website will continue on an ongoing basis as we prepare for the 3rd Annual River Peoples Cultural Exchange.  The website is where you will find a growing collection of photos, stories, information, and links to video of last year's event, and hopefully soon, the current year's event as well.

Other upcoming projects we are excited about include:

Youth Art Project, River Peoples Tribute -- An Installation in the Park

3rd Annual River Peoples Cultural Exchange, May 2011.

We invite you to actively participate in these worthy endeavors.  If you would like to join us in any of these projects, or support them with a contribution, please contact Simon Sampson by email at ssam1848@aol.com or Lorie Hull at hull@gorge.net.
